The group s claim to fame is campaigning for political upstart Jason Chaffetz, who beat longtime incumbent Chris Cannon in Utah s 3rd Congressional District in 2008. For those who don t know, Independence Caucus started in Utah s third district by some guys who wanted to help Jason Chaffetz win against an incumbent Chris Cannon. They did some research and found that almost 80 percent of his donations came from out of state. (Logan Herald Journal, UT)
